Halloween Owl Treat Tags

Here are some easy favor tags for those Halloween treats.

Sentiment:  Happy Owl'oween

This cute little owl and sentiment pun is a perfect little treat decoration for Halloween.
I like to put a little decoration of some sort on my treats each year.  And this is what I will tie to whatever I decide to give out to trick or treaters this  year.
This would also be a fun wine tag for the grown ups.

For these, I used paper from my stash.

This is a great activity for the kids to color.  Just stamp lots of these on paper and let the coloring begin.  Trim or punch them out and then add string.  So easy.

Belated birthday coffee card & tutorial.

Sometimes we need a belated birthday card. This one is cute and funny with a little pun in there.

Sentiment:  Happy birthday a little latte.

This is a mix of stamping, die-cuts and watercolor.

Watercolor coffee background tutorial:
To get the look of coffee as a background, apply distress ink heavily where needed onto watercolor paper.  I used Ranger Tim Holtz walnut stain distress ink pad and applicator.
Use a spray mister and spray water onto the inked paper.
Let dry and trim or die-cut as needed.

I snapped a photo during this process and before trimming.

Thanksgiving Leaves Gift Tags & Tutorial

Today, I am up on the Unity blog with this Thanksgiving themed project.
These are some of the tags created for my Thanksgiving table favors this  year.

These can be tied to treats, wine, baked goods and more.  They can also be used as a bookmark.

A closer look at the tag.  Each are a little different because of the watercolor and accents.

As a wine tag.  The tags are great to have on hand for wine gifts.

The watercolor process for these tags:
1. Use lightest color first, then dry.
2. Add a darker layer, then dry.
3.  Add an accent color, then dry.
4.  With the watercolors you used, tap the wet brush to make the splatters, then dry.
5.  Add white splatters and glitter glue to the leaves to accent even more, then dry.

Best Day Ever Flowers Watercolor Card

Here is a floral card which can be used for almost any celebration occasion.  For me it most likely will be a birthday card because I don't seem to have enough of them.

Sentiment:  May you have the best day ever.

For this card, I layered stamps, masked some areas, painted the flowers in with watercolor and used die-cuts.  It was easy using the versatile stamps and dies from My Creative Time.  When I noticed that Miss Emma had a challenge this week, I couldn't wait to delve into my collection of MCT goodness.

The twist was to use an embellishment of some sort that you haven't used in a long time.  Instead of patterned paper and stickers, I made my own accents with her background stamps and the flower dies, things I haven't used in quite a while.  To make them pop, I masked the background and overlapped the flowers onto a smaller frame.  The leaves and flowers float over the edges.

Trees Planted Inspirational Card

Here is another card to offer support or encouragement to lift someone's spirits.

Sentiment:
Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but actually you've been planted.

I kept the trees and colors light and bright to help lift up spirits.  These kinds of card are the most difficult to make, but good sentiments help for when you don't know what to say.  At least for me that is true.

Butterfly and Flowers Birthday with Foil

Here is a birthday card with pink flowers and a butterfly, accented with rose gold foil.

Sentiment:  May your birthday be full of your favorite things.

And a closer look at the foil.

I used a deco foil pen along with deco foil in rose gold.  It leaves the look of embossing but without machines.  The butterfly also sparkles in real life.  I trimmed and placed the flowers with foam.
